The chapters of this book are excerpted from the author’s much larger book titled God’s Great Tradition of Global Wisdom: Guru Yoga-Satsang in the Integral Age (published in November 2021 by Bright Alliance). As hard as it will be for Christians or any of the practitioners of Western religions to believe, an authentic Guru, especially an “Avatar”—which means “to cross over” or “descend” from God-Light into human form—is the method by which God comes to Teach and Transmit to us common human folk the reality of the Holy Spirit (or cosmic energy) and the truth about the Transcendental Godhead that transcends all forms of any kind. This is where the Spiritual Teacher, the Spiritual Master, comes in handy; this is their job, so to speak. As this book will review, in brief, each one of the major Western religions—Judaism, Christianity, Islam—has a tradition of wise elders and Masters who serve important functions of guidance and instruction helping to reveal to us the Holy Spirit and God’s Kingdom here on Earth. But you must know how to listen to and hear them correctly and then to “Follow Me.” You must go beyond the myths, superstitions, and fantasies of the mythic mind, which is how most of these religions have appeared traditionally. We must break from the chains of ignorance created by the past and our merely exoteric (or “outer”) or ceremonial religious practices and open up to the esoteric (or “inner”) truths at the core of Real Religion.
